Beta Chat

Currently in beta, you can tap the Chat [Beta] button on a Summon to try out our new Chat experience. New features include:

Faster AI, up to 10x faster
Choose between a selection of models
Add memory, for details you want the AI to know
Edit the Summon’s backstory
Choose your own safety settings

Choosing a model

We currently have 4 models available. During beta, they are all freely available to all, though after the beta we may make some of them available only to Pro users, depending on cost.

Sentinel: This is our most advanced AI model. It’s a large model, which means it is good at remembering details, and is creative. However, this model comes with strict content guidelines which means it doesn’t allow certain common adventure features like violent combat or romance.
Lorekeeper: This is a small model specially tuned for roleplay. It’s the most unique of our models: it is very creative and interesting, but can often go off the rails, forget details, speak for you, etc. We recommend trying it out but expect high highs and low lows.
Magister: This is our most balanced model. It’s medium size, which means it is creative and remembers details, but not as powerful as Sentinel. However, it doesn’t censor itself the way Sentinel does, so you can engage in a wider variety of chats.
Fleetfoot: This model is lighting fast, but at the cost of being forgetful and sometimes repeating itself.

You pick a model when you start a chat, and you can always change the model in the chat settings (press the gear icon on the top right corner of the chat).

Memory

AIs are not very good at remembering stuff. They usually can only handle a couple of thousand words at most. So, we let you add memory to the AI! You can go to the chat settings (press the gear icon on the top right corner of the chat) and add memory. The AI won’t always be perfect at using the details you put in the memory, but it is usually quite good at it.

Summon details

We use the backstory from a Summon when you start a chat. After that, you can edit the backstory in the chat settings (press the gear icon on the top right corner of the chat) and edit it. This has the dual benefits of:

You can change the Summon’s details, which affect the chat
If someone edits a Summon you’re chatting with, your chat won’t suddenly change.

Safety settings

We allow three safety settings, which you can pick before starting the chat and also edit after starting:

Safe: This asks the AI to limit any violent, hateful or NSFW content.
Moderate: This allows light themes of combat or romance.
Mature: No restrictions. You will need to confirm you are 18+. We will still enforce certain usage policies and may decline to generate content that violates those.
